The University of Baguio, through its commitment to advancing innovation in education and technology, participated in the 2nd International AI EdTech Summit held on March 23 at The Plaza Garden Hotel & Residences. With the theme “Human-Centric AI in Education and Industry: Advancing Learning Through Adaptive and Collaborative Technology,” the summit gathered educators, industry experts, and technology leaders to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in education and beyond.



The event featured a distinguished lineup of international speakers who shared insights on the integration of AI in teaching, learning, and industry practices. Among the keynote speakers were Alex Urrea, Founder and CEO of Eduscape USA, who discussed innovative AI-driven learning platforms; Jacob Bougle, Founder, MARco, and Head of AI Solutions at MyEducape (USA), who highlighted adaptive learning technologies; and Amol Choudhary, Partner at Anhui MiMouse Technology Co., Ltd., who presented applications of AI in industry settings.

The summit provided a platform for meaningful discussions on implementing human-centric AI, emphasizing the importance of ethical, inclusive, and adaptive technologies in education. Dr. Dennis Layug, President and CEO of East West International Specialists Inc., introduced emerging companies with tools and strategies that support personalized learning experiences, improve institutional readiness, and bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The presence of the University’s Management Team, namely the Dean of SBAA Dr, John Balnquit; Dean of STELA, Dr. Antonio Mangaliag; Dean of SIT, Dr. Ellen Halover; Dean of SEA, Arch. Ryan Benaoe, Principal of UB High School, Dr. Violeta Apiles, and the Principal of UB Elementary School. As well as Directors of the university, namely, Director of Admissions and Records Center, Dr. Medardo Abarientos; Director of Center for Counselling and Student Development, Ms. Leny Estacio; Director of the Office of Student Affairs, Dr. Froilan Aspa; Director of Linkages, Ms. Melanie Saro; and the Chief Librarian, Mr. John Nigel Millare, along with faculty and staff. The program heads highlighted the growing interest in integrating AI into curricula and institutional frameworks.




The University of Baguio’s participation in this international summit supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by showing the advances of technology that can be embedded in lesson plans, teaching methods, and alleviating the mundane work into a creative outlet. And SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening the partnership through means of support in many ways.



The emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and learning contributes to enhancing the quality, accessibility, and relevance of education. Furthermore, the focus on technological innovation and AI-driven solutions aligns with efforts to improve research, infrastructure, and industry collaboration. The multi-sector engagement among educational institutions, industry leaders, and global experts also highlights the importance of partnerships in advancing sustainable and inclusive development.

Overall, the University of Baguio’s participation in the summit underscores its dedication to embracing technological advancements and strengthening its role in preparing learners for an increasingly digital and AI-driven future. Through continued engagement in international conferences and initiatives, the University remains aligned with global trends in education and innovation.
