Written by Ace Lordhene Cabato

Guided by the unwavering spirit to never turn back, the University of Baguio Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (UB JPIA) from the School of Business Administration and Accountancy has once again demonstrated academic prowess and leadership at the EXCEEDS 2026: Revitalizing Paradigms: Empowering Business Paragons in Nation Building last March 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM via Zoom. UB’s team stood out in highly competitive categories in the event that brought together the finest accounting brains, establishing the university’s name as a powerhouse of future business leaders.

Demonstrating an exceptional command of intricate accounting principles and financial structures, Jhayzel A. Delposo emerged as the Senior Quiz Bee First Runner-Up. Also, Gian Carlo A. Alip emerged as a Finalist in the Junior Quiz Bee, a testament to the prowess of the next generation of UB accountants. Moreover, the powerhouse team of Krishia Mae C. Bigtas, Chreza D. Banes and Kristine Andrea T. Cristobal came together to win Second Runner-Up in the Virtual Amazing Race, exemplifying the importance of teamwork and e-adaptability for the UB contingent.

This is not only a set of awards, but a real achievement under the UN SDG 4: Quality Education. Through academic pursuits, the UB JPIA serves as a critical link in the chain as classroom-based theory becomes key skills in a professional career. The preparation for such intensive competitions directly contributes to an increased proportion of youth with relevant technical and vocational skills for employment and entrepreneurship. These student-delegates are not simply taking tests here, but preparing themselves for the future to enhance financial literacy and ensure ethical development and economic growth for the nation.

The successes of EXCEEDS 2026 demonstrate the power of quality education to build a growth mindset and academic resilience. The UB JPIA is continuing to demonstrate that accountancy students are prepared to lead with integrity and contribute to a more sustainable and economically viable country through local action and in the linkage of global goals.

Congratulations to our UB Representatives!
