NETWORK-BASED ENROLLMENT KIOSK FOR STREAMLINED QUEUE MANAGEMENT

This project was developed and implemented by Electronics Engineering students, an Enrollment Queueing Kiosk for the School of Engineering and Architecture. This an innovative solution that aims to reduce congestion and waiting times for the students during enrollment period of the semester.

As the Enrollment period of the first semester of the 2026-27 Academic School Year begins, the School of Engineering and Architecture has begun preparations for the heavy influx of enrollees. During this period, students usually go through the tedious process of waiting for hours on end before being accommodated by the enrollment advisers. The large number of students also increases commotion in the hallway.

During face-to-face enrollment, with the integration of the system, the student’s ID is scanned once they are ready for enrollment. For those in the queue who will not be accommodated immediately, they are free to leave the hallway since they are able to monitor their status through the web application by scanning the QR code on the kiosk. The system will also send them an email alerting them when their turn is approaching.

Enrollment advisors are also given a more systematic approach in handling enrollment queues, with utilization of online commands that allow them to control the flow of students for enrollment. This project supports the global push for sustainable development, directly contributing to SDG 9, which promotes resilient infrastructure and innovation, while simultaneously improving service delivery efficiency in education, a direct advancement of SDG  4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all.

By utilizing this digital queue solution, students of the School of Engineering and Architecture can participate in queues with less difficulty and automatically receive notifications to alleviate congestion and improve service flow.
