Access to safe and affordable drinking water is a basic human right and a key focus of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation). To support this goal, the School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) launched its own Water Refilling Station on July 14, 2025. More than just a convenience, this project exemplifies collective action in fostering a culture of sustainability and responsible water usage. The station is located just outside the SBAA Dean’s Office and Faculty Room on the 3rd Floor of the Centennial Building at the University of Baguio.
The SBAA Water Refilling Station was organized by the Dean’s Office, with support from the SBAA Student Body and other student organizations (JPIA, JFINEX, JAME, JEC, and OFE). It was introduced during the Short Term of 2024–2025 to provide students with easy access to clean water before, during, and after classes. Student leaders helped launch the project and are now promoting it among the students using their Facebook Pages. Starting A.Y. 2025–2026, the Dean’s Office will hand over its management to the Student Body.
The goal is simple but meaningful: to provide safe, affordable drinking water while encouraging efficient water use and reducing plastic waste. For only ₱5 per refill, students, faculty, and staff can access clean drinking water. This promotes the use of reusable bottles and helps reduce the use of disposable plastics on campus. SBAA is not only promoting environmental awareness but also setting an example for future generations.
The project also supports better sanitation and hygiene by encouraging students to stay hydrated, especially during long school hours. It is a practical response to SDG 6, helping promote health and sustainability in the SBAA community.

To further expand this initiative, the Dean’s Office is planning to open another water refilling station on the 4th Floor of the Centennial Building.
The SBAA Water Refilling Station shows how small actions can support global goals. Through the efforts of faculty, staff, and student organizations, SBAA is helping build a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable campus—one refill at a time.
