The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Chapter, in partnership with the University of Baguio (UB) School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA), successfully hosted the IECEP Regional Quiz Show on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the UB Centennial Hall . The primary objectives of this significant event were to promote continuing professional development and competence among its student members and to serve as a paradigm of excellence in applying the principle of electronics technology for the advancement of humanity. By providing a challenging platform for academic and non-academic contests, the summit aimed to cultivate a new generation of humane, competent, virtuous, and globally competitive electronics professionals.

This regional competition directly supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8): Decent Work and Economic Growth. The event embodies the spirit that seeks to substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship. In alignment with the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings methodology, the Regional Quiz Show and Student Summit contribute through the core pillars of Teaching and Outreach. The rigorous competitions cover Mathematics, General Engineering & Applied Sciences, Communications and Electronics Engineering, enhancing the technical and vocational skills required for the profession.

By making these educational events accessible to regional HEIs, the summit provides lifelong learning measures and essential professional enrichment beyond the regular curriculum, fostering a commitment to inclusive and equitable quality education.

The event was spearheaded by the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) – CAR Chapter, which serves as the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) for the Electronics Engineering profession. Students from Electronics Engineering programs, a total of 60 student competitors, across the Cordillera Administrative Region participated in various events, including the Interscholastic Quiz Show, Circuit Crunch Challenge, Math Olympiad, Euphony, Spur of the Moment, and Digital Arts.
