The recognition was received on behalf of the University by Dr. Ellen Halover, Dean of the School of Information Technology, together with Ms. Lolita B. Narag, Cisco Academy Main Contact, during the Cisco Networking Academy Instructors’ Professional Development and Partners’ Conference 2026 held on March 12–13, 2026 in Boracay, Aklan. The conference gathered Cisco Academy leaders, instructors, and institutional partners from across the country.

This year’s conference carried the theme “Connect. Secure. Transform: Architecting the Future of Filipino Talent,” highlighting the shared mission of preparing learners for a rapidly evolving digital landscape. The event also underscored Cisco’s goal of powering an inclusive future and encouraged the participation of Main Contacts, Cisco Academy instructors, and Engineering or IT Deans and Program Chairpersons to stay updated on developments affecting academic programs and student outcomes.

For the University of Baguio, the recognition reflects more than longevity. It signifies a strong and enduring partnership that has helped enrich the learning experiences of students in the field of information technology through access to relevant industry knowledge, digital tools, and globally aligned competencies. Through the years, UB’s engagement with Cisco Networking Academy has supported the School of Information Technology’s efforts to equip learners with practical and future-ready skills in networking, cybersecurity, and related technology disciplines.

The award also highlights the University’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence through meaningful collaboration with industry partners. By maintaining strong linkages with globally recognized organizations such as Cisco, UB strengthens its capacity to deliver instruction that is responsive to current professional standards and emerging workforce demands.

This milestone likewise reflects the University’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting access to relevant and high-quality technology education; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by helping prepare students with competencies that improve employability in the digital economy; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through sustained collaboration with industry partners that enhance learning opportunities and institutional development.
