Partnerships are essential for the university to address students’ needs on a larger scale, ensuring that they have the resources they need to develop the skills required in their field of profession.
In line with this goal, the university has partnered with Insight Global Health in the United States to provide students in the School of Nursing (SN) with the opportunity to prepare for international deployment. Through curriculum sharing and faculty skill development programs, the university and Insight Global Health hope to provide students with enhanced training opportunities that will better prepare them to be globally competitive nurses.

Both institutions officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 31, 2024, at the UB Centennial Hall. Representing Insight Global Health, USA were CEO Mr. Bert Bean, President Ms. Jessica Calzaretta, Vice President Mr. Josh Seider, and Executive Director Ms. Cheryl Alexander. Also present were 21st Century Manpower President Mr. Russell Garcia and Healthcare Recruitment Consultant Ms. Edd Delamide.
Also present during the MOU signing was esteemed Undersecretary Atty. Patricia Yvonne Caunan from the Department of Migrant Workers. Her presence greatly underscored the importance of providing opportunities for local nurses to be able to work in foreign countries, highlighting the excellent capabilities of Filipino nurses and the importance of helping others around the world beyond the call of duty.

The MOU also seeks to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helping the university pursue Goal No. 04: Quality Education and No. 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Geared towards improving the delivery of healthcare services training, the collaboration seeks to introduce new teaching methods, broadening the scope of the curriculum of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. By sharing the facilities and allowing IGH to utilize space for laboratory training, the partnership aims to enhance the technical skills of the students to ensure that they can meet the demands of the international healthcare industry.
