This endeavor is a response to the Department of Education’s call to encourage the conduct of various activities during National Reading Month.

“In support of the Department of Education’s commitment to make the curriculum relevant to produce job-ready, active and responsible citizens through strengthening literacy programs…This initiative aims to foster love for reading among learners and enhance their understanding of reading and literacy as pivotal in cultivating critical thinking.”

More than 800 pupils from the Kindergarten and Grade 1 levels, including a select section from Grade 4, enjoyed a day of storytelling with activities, singing, and exercises.

Leading the activity were faculty members and students from the Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor in Secondary Education, Bachelor in Physical Education, Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Arts in Music programs who served as Reading Ambassadors and Wellness Ambassadors, since the Month of November also coincides with Children’s Month.

This endeavor is also supported by alumni volunteers who used books provided by the Department of Science and Technology- Science Education Institute.
